Two years to UW, followed by two years at UW
After spending your first two years of undergrad at our partner school, Shoreline College, you can apply for transfer admission into the University of Washington.
Shoreline is one of the most international community colleges in the country, ranked #13 nationally for international student enrollment, with around 900 students from 65 countries. It also offers a unique High School Completion program for students who want to earn high school diploma and university transfer credits at the exact same time. The campus sits just 20 minutes from downtown Seattle, with Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier both within reach on the weekends. It's a remarkable place to spend your first two academic years.
But the transfer system is complex and difficult to manage — especially while juggling the rigors of student life. What GPA do I need to pursue the University of Washington?
UW does not publish a single minimum GPA that guarantees transfer admission across all applicants. Public data and transfer outcomes suggest that successful applicants typically have strong GPAs, and the bar can be significantly higher for competitive majors. UBridge advisors help students plan a realistic GPA target based on their major and ensure they take the right courses to be a credible applicant.
What TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo do I need to pursue the University of Washington?
UW’s English testing requirements can vary depending on a student’s educational background and where their prior coursework was completed. Unlike most other California schools that UBridge helps students apply to, UW can require these standardized language tests. What matters most is that you meet the minimum admissions requirements to get into UBridge first.
Can this really help me if I’m already a great student?
Yes. UW transfer admissions can be competitive, and the details matter. Great students still get rejected when they misunderstand prerequisites, fail to complete major-specific requirements, underestimate how competitive certain majors are, or take courses that don’t align well with transfer expectations. UBridge helps top students build a clear two-year roadmap, select the right classes, and stay on track academically and administratively so they don’t lose momentum or miss key requirements. Is this a tutoring service?
No, our advisors cover much, much more than tutoring. You will be assigned a professional, in-person advisor who covers all aspects of you or your students’ needs. From creating a full two-year plan to transfer to the University of Washington, to actually registering for classes, required academic meetings/updates during the semester, written reports to parents/agents, and transfer assistance to the University of Washington in year two.
Is University of Washington admission guaranteed?
No. UW does not offer a guaranteed admissions pathway. UBridge can significantly improve your competitiveness and execution, but UW admissions decisions are selective and not guaranteed.
